Infusion Therapy

Amarillo Diagnostic Clinic has an infusion room for the purpose of giving IV medications that cannot be given by any other route. This includes drugs such as Remicade for Crohn’s and Rheumatoid Arthritis patients, osteoporosis drugs and antibiotics.  The room consists of a relaxing atmosphere where patients can read a book, watch TV or take a nap.  Patients are monitored by a nurse during the course of their infusion, and a doctor is on-site for supervision. Our Infectious Disease department provides an office-based outpatient infusion service in which patients may be treated at home for serious infections requiring IV antibiotics.
